A quick one: Acorn Green Bullet IPA

The latest in Acorn’s fascinating series of beers showcasing New Zealand hops uses Green Bullet, a variety I’ve never heard of before. Green by name and green by nature — this tasted raw, grassy and herbal. I thought it was just the right side of astringent, but still probably a bit more bitter than I’d like. It slipped down very nicely, nonetheless.

  1. An old school NZ Hop, most notibly the hop used in Steinlager, boring iconic beer that it is.

Enjoyed this in Sheffield last weekend, as well as some kind of Ginger infused ale from Acorn. They’re usually pretty reliable, I find.

A very good beer, indeed, although it may well prove too bitter for some. Possibly might not have had a gallon of it though, if I had known beforehand it was 5%.
